RJ Mandy, a well-known radio jockey is also a keen travel enthusiast. She is driven by wanderlust to experience new cultures, landscapes, and cuisines. She lists some of the top travel spots she has visited this year
Hyderabad
It's been couple of years I went to hyderabad and I must say the city has changed so much. I totally enjoyed the vibe of the city, specially the knowledge city area! And since I am a cafe enthusiast, I explored some amazing cafes there with super cool interior and food. And not forget the ever bustling Charminar.
Ziro
This was an impromptu road trip and I was literally bowled over by the scenic beauty of the place. Be the people, the food or place this place definately is a must visit for reason! And one must definately visit the butterfly park. Cosmos flowers were the showstopper of the trip.
Mawphlang Sacred Forest
If you are a nature lover this place is for you. I got totally immersed in the forest bath and this place has a mystic lingering effect on you that teaches you its history and the depth of its existence. It remains with you.
Namchi
Located in neighbouring state Sikkim, Namchi is a unique place to enjoy the calmness of its own. Its greenery and the beautiful flowers of so many colours will keep your mind occupied throughout the trip and the waterfalls by the road was breathtaking. My lungs could literally feel the fresh air. Local hotels there serve amazing local food.
Tawang
Tawang is a wallpaper for Me! Because the beauty is surreal. I mean every turn in the hill surprises you with breathtaking views. No doubt why it takes me so long to complete a journey because I make pit stop, enjoy the view, speak to the locals, enjoy the frozen air and carry on with the trip. Tawang is a 10/10 place.
Shergaon
A quick trip from Guwahati is worth an effort. Roaming freely in the valley like a kid to plucking apple in the orchard, Shergaon is mesmerizing. Early morning yoga by the river, walks in the evening, eating apple in an orchard, untouched beauty is Shergaon. It steals your heart.
Mumbai
A favourite noise. A place that never sleeps. A cup of tea by the Marine drive or a stroll at colaba for some shopping, I mean nothing beats the beauty of this city. Rightly said -- “Mumbai Meri Jaan”!
Kolkata
Food and Books or colonial to modern they co-exist in style in Kolkata. A city that smells of rich culture, always a go to place for a short break. Buying books to having breakfast in flurrys &and lunch in Bhojohori manna -- a perfect sum up for a solo trip. Kolkata ami tomake bhalo bashi.
Ri bhoi, Umsning
A place to lie down in the greens by the lake and sky gaze. Enjoy the noodles on your way back and see the wild horses walking by the road. A 2-hour drive, it makes it a perfect short break on a Sunday for me.
Tinsukia
A cute place where every door greets you with a smile. Epic food and mind-blowing hospitality. Every meal turns into a feast, as the community gathers and bestows you with so much of love. Dont forget to have the “Haah with kumura”! Feels as if its your home away from home. Love the people. Love the place!
Garbhanga
A short trek to pluck those tasty oranges? Yes! Always a yes to Garbhanga forest. Spending time with the kids there at Garbhanga Parijat Academy is one my favourite things to do when I am not working on weekends. They make you smile! Beware, its contagious!
