Under the banner of her firm Angelo and Associates Inc she is involved in qualitative market research , writing for US trade publications ,marketing communications, event emceeing and media placement.
Welcome address will be given by our gracious hostess, the elegant and warm Roopa Sharma. Roopa Sharma lives In Naperville, a suburb of Chicago after retiring as Project Leader at a Food Consulting firm. Writing in Assamese, her lyrical poems have been published in various journals. She is the current President of Assam Sahitya Sabha of North America and edits the bilingual journal Luitor Pora Mississipi.
Ice-breaker will be Thumb Print brand ambassador, Mitra Phukan. Phukan is a writer, translator, columnist and classical vocalist who lives and works in Guwahati, Assam. Her published literary works include four children's books, a biography, and a novel, "The Collector's Wife". Her most recent work is another novel, "A Monsoon of Music" published by Penguin-Zubaan in September 2011. Besides, her short stories have appeared in numerous anthologies. Her works have been translated into several languages. She is the Northeast correspondent of the Chennai-based journal of the performing arts, "Shruti" and President of the North East Writers' Forum.
