Twenty- seven year old, Omi of Sikkim is among the 10 male finalists vying for Cutest Vegetarian Next Door 2013. Omi has beaten out hundreds of other entrants from across India to become one of 10 male contestants to advance to the final round of the competition, to be named People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India's Cutest Vegetarian Next Door 2013.
Names of the finalists were officially announced on Thursday (October 24, 2013) afternoon by PETA India. Finalists were chosen by PETA’s expert panel based on good looks, love and dedication towards animal and personality. Now the winner will be judged based on public votes. Voting will last until 5:30 pm on 7 November 2013, and the India’s Cutest Vegetarian Next Door 2013 one male and one female) will be crowned on November 11, 2013.
Omi appeals to public not just to vote but also take a pledge to go vegetarian. “It’s sad that animals are killed in the name of religion especially during festive season. Mind you, no religions permit murder. Use your brain, open your heart and remember whoever is kind to the creatures of god, is kind to him.”
