He is young, cool and cute; his debut bollywood film Yaariyan which was released on January became a big hit with young and young at heart in the country. A contemporary and youthful film about college friends, love, relationships and competitions; Yaariyan is filled with romantic and peppy numbers. The hero feels that the enchanting beauty of Sikkim where major portion of the film was shot enhanced the romance and charm of the story. It was a visual delight for audience to watch the film. “It was a wonderful experience to shoot in Lachen, so surreal and beautiful. It is the land of snow white, a dream land! The place is so picturesque like we see in fairy tales.”
The film was shot in Lachen, Tsongmo Lake, M.G. marg and Vajra Hall in Sikkim. Lachen is located at an elevation of 2,750 metres in North Sikkim. The name Lachen means ‘big pass’ is about 129 km from Gangtok, can be reached via road, a six-hour adventurous journey from Gangtok. Tsongmo Lake is a holy lake in East Sikkim, 40 kilometres away from Gangtok at altitude of 3,780 m (12,400 ft).Mahatma Gandhi marg is the main market of Gangtok filled with boutiques, bistros and coffee outlets. Varjra Hall is the popular cinema hall in Gangtok.
Born and brought up in Delhi, Himansh worked as a RJ before he tried acting.He made his debut on TV with daily soap Humse Hai Life. He played the character Raghav Oberoi which became very popular. He left the show as he got his first bollywood break with Yaariyan. “This experience from TV to films is good. When I started with TV, I always used to think when I will get a film; I wanted to act in films. By going from TV to Bollywood I have moved one step further. Both the medium are same.”
With new films in the pipeline the actor is grateful to the people in Sikkim for their love and support. “I am thankful to the people of Sikkim for their hospitality and helping me in my journey to be a hero. Sikkim will always be close to my heart and I shall soon visit the place. It is indeed one of the most beautiful places in India.”
