Ratna continues to train and mentor rural youth on Forest Department Projects & independently. Having trained over 2000 rural youth in the past decade, she was awarded the Karmaveer Chakra (instituted by the UN & iCongo) in 2019 for her work with rural communities, especially women. She advocates life in the wilderness; quiet neighbours, great views and no traffic jams to the workplace. Ratna has been working in the field of sustainable wildlife tourism for nearly two decades. She lives on the periphery of Kanha Tiger Reserve and helps run a wildlife lodge for the discerning Tiger safari goer.
