did his LLB from Gauhati University, is self-employed, and is settled in Narikal Bari area of Guwahati. He was the president of Leo club of Dispur during his college days and the General Secretary of Punjabi Sabha. He is one of the first person to start the anti-corruption movement in the northeast, and is presently member of the state committee of Aam Aadmi Party and one of the founder national council member of Aam Aadmi Party.
